Elmham Surgery and Swanton Morley Surgery are working with Norfolk PCT to reduce the expenditure on commonly prescribed drugs. The Cambridgeshire PCT Prescribing Formulary is and evidence-based formulary acknowledge as best practice. The GP Partners have agreed to implement this formulary as the Elmham and Swanton Morley Surgeries preferred first and second line choices for commonly prescribed drugs. When ordering your prescription you need to give 2 working days notice (excluding weekends and/or Bank Holidays). Prescriptions take 48 hours to prepare from the time they reach us ...... not the time posted! Prescriptions can be posted, faxed, brought
into the surgery or If you have any queries about your medication, write on the bottom of your prescription order form or telephone the dispensary Mon to Fri between 9.30 am - 12 noon and 2.00pm - 4.30 pm. Wed afternoon 3.00pm – 4.00pm on 01362 668215. Prescriptions with queries usually take an extra day or two to process. Please remember - When you call to collect your prescription, if you are exempt from prescription charges, we are required by law to ask you to produce evidence of exemption and will be unable to release your prescription without this.

Requests for unauthorised medication cannot be made using this system and patients will need to see their doctor first. Requests once received at the practice will be dealt in exactly the same way as other repeat medication requests accepted by hand or telephone - with every effort in maintaining confidentiality.
