  • Contract Type: Permanent, part-time
  • Hours: 24 hours per week, worked over 4 days
  • Salary: £12.21 per hour
  • Reports to: Dispensary Manager

About the Role

Elmham Group of Practices is looking for a reliable and caring Delivery Driver to join our dispensary team. You’ll play a vital role in supporting patient care by ensuring the safe, confidential, and timely delivery of prescribed medications to patients’ homes and local businesses.

You’ll act as a key link between the dispensary and our patients, upholding the highest standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and customer service. This is a rewarding role where you can make a real difference to people’s wellbeing within your community.

Main Responsibilities

  • Deliver to patients’ homes and remote deliveries.
  • Prepare and maintain the delivery van for daily use.
  • Collect prescriptions from the dispensary and deliver them safely and accurately.
  • Handle temperature-sensitive items, ensuring cold chain storage is maintained.
  • Report any concerns about patient wellbeing or medication issues to the dispensary team.
  • Ensure the security and cleanliness of the delivery vehicle.
  • Follow infection control, health & safety, and safeguarding procedures at all times.
 

About You

You’ll be organised, dependable, and approachable, with a genuine desire to help others. You’ll take pride in providing excellent service to our patients and supporting the dispensary team.

Essential:

  • Full, clean driving licence
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative
  • Basic understanding of confidentiality and data protection (e.g. GDPR)

Desirable:

  • Previous experience working in a healthcare or general practice environment
  • Knowledge of safe handling of medications
